President János Áder welcomed religious leaders from Hungarian communities in neighboring countries for a ceremonial lunch at the presidential palace on Tuesday.

“God may not always provide all the miracles people pray for but he provides opportunities from time to time for people to perform wonders for others,” President Áder said in his address.

The president added that towards the end of the year focus should fall on the miracles and wonders that one has recently benefitted from. “We must thank you all for your selfless work over the past year,” he said.

During the lunch, the president made special mention of retired Bishop of Subotica (Szabadka) János Pénzes, outgoing Archbishop of Alba Iulia (Gyulafehérvár) György Jakubinyi, and József Tamás, coadjutor of Miercurea Ciuc (Csikszereda), for their efforts in helping their communities.
