President Katalin Novák will attend the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II today. “I am leaving for London with my husband, István, to pay my last respects at the queen’s bier on behalf of the Hungarian nation, and attend her funeral service along with world leaders tomorrow,” the president wrote on Facebook. President Novák said that although she had never got the opportunity to meet Elizabeth II in person, she respected her for her attitude, wisdom and service to her nation. The Queen died on September 8 at the age of 96 at her summer residence of Balmoral Castle in Scotland after 70 years on the throne.
