Soros funded Freedom House takes “politically motivated and biased” swipe at Hungary

Government Spokesperson Zoltán Kovács said the Freedom in the World report, knowing the organization’s financial background, is an attack against Hungary by another Soros organization

Human rights organization Freedom House – which has ties to George Soros – has taken a “politically motivated and biased” swipe at Hungary in its latest report.

Government Spokesperson Zoltán Kovács said the Freedom in the World report, knowing the organization’s financial background, is an attack against Hungary by another Soros organization.

“Freedom House’s methodology and procedure is politically motivated,” he said.

“The evaluation is also political, and is linked to George Soros and to those liberals who are in a political and ideological dispute with Hungary,” he added.

Kovács said it was problematic that the clear violations of the law that occurred on October 23rd 2006, when the rule of law was trampled over, were not raised in that year's edition of report.

He highlighted that the fundamental problem with Freedom House is that it is a Soros organization, which is biased and is attacking the country out of political interest and motivation.

The report suggested that citizens in Hungary are increasingly fearful of expressing their political opinions because non-governmental organizations and the opposition are being increasingly intimidated.
