State Secretary Tamás Menczer said much work has been done to continually develop cooperation between Hungary and Slovakia to the benefit of both countries, and “we are ready to build ties further”.
According to MTI, Menczer said that “we have achieved some significant results together and we are ready to further build ties within the framework of the European Union where we have been members for a long time”. In response to press reports showing that Boris Kollar, speaker of Slovakia’s national council, said that Prime Minister Viktor Orbán could ask for help from Russian President Vladimir Putin to redraw the borders of Slovakia, Menczer said “we respectfully point out to Boris Kollar that we live in the 21st century”.
