Fidesz-KDNP Communications Director Tamás Menczer stated on Sunday that Manfred Weber, President of the European People’s Party (EPP) and “the political master of Péter Magyar,” wants to see a pro-Ukraine puppet government in Hungary carrying out Brussels’ will. Menczer made the remarks in a post on social media, where he also shared a video of Weber declaring: “Prime Minister Orbán, you are the past, Péter Magyar is the future.”
Menczer highlighted that Péter Magyar has called it “baseless” to suggest that Brussels aims to install a puppet government led by him. “In reality, Manfred Weber, Péter Magyar’s master, said clearly what he wants: a pro-Ukraine puppet government executing Brussels’ orders,” the Fidesz politician wrote.
He stressed that the Hungarian people “do not want this and will not tolerate Weber dictating to them,” recalling that Hungarians have always rejected “puppets serving foreign interests.” According to Menczer, the same fate awaits Péter Magyar and the Tisza Party.
“Their place is on the scrap heap of Hungarian political history, alongside their predecessors in the SZDSZ and Momentum,” Menczer said, adding that after the elections Magyar may find himself “sharing a parliamentary group with András Fekete-Győr.”
