The 39th Budapest Spring Festival will take place in Hungary from April 5th.
This year, the festival will bring a series of exclusive events, not only to its main venue, the Palace of Arts (MÜPA), but several other cultural institutions in the Hungarian capital, organizer Csaba Káel said.
With almost a hundred cultural events in over a dozen cultural venues in the Hungarian capital, this year's Budapest Spring Festival is certain to again be one of the main European cultural events of the season, MÜPA director and head organizer of the festival Csaba Káel said.
According to Rmx.news, one of the opening attractions of the festival will be an exhibition of the Museum of Fine Arts, gathering close to a hundred drawings of Michelangelo and his contemporaries. On loan from twenty famous collections from around the world - including the Teylers Museum in Haarlem, the British Museum, the Casa Buonarroti and the Uffizi in Florence, the Paris Louvre, the Albertina in Vienna and the Oxford Ashmolean Museum, the exhibition gathers Michelangelo's sketches of the Sixtine Chapel and The Last Judgement.
Another special performance will be the premiere of Russian composer Modest Mussorgsky's reconstructed opera, Khovanshchina - the composer never finished it and it was completed by Rimsky-Korsakov and presented in St Petersburg.
