The Transylvania-based Hungarian Youth Cultural Organization invites budding musicians and professionals to take part in the fifth iteration of the Most-Beautiful Transylvanian Hungarian Song competition.
Founded five years ago, the competition is aimed at encouraging the production of high-quality, Hungarian-speaking songs and melodies that encapsulate the mentality of the region. Showcasing relatively-unknown talent, the event plays an invaluable role in providing visibility to underrepresented voices.
Unreleased, original material is expected from every participant. Every solo singer, band, or ensemble can apply, regardless of favored genre or style - insofar that they live in Transylvania and speak Hungarian. Entries will be selected into two categories: pieces written by under 25s and those over.
The deadline for applications falls on September 30th. The winners will be announced on November 9th, at a gala night held in Cluj-Napoca.
