President Trump has written a letter to Prime Minister Viktor Orbán thanking him for his message of congratulations upon the president’s inauguration, according to the Cabinet Office of the Prime Minister.
President Trump wrote that he greatly appreciates the Hungarian prime minister’s support and encouragement, the Prime Minister's Office said.
“We are facing challenges, which, it is my belief, we are capable of overcoming jointly, through partnership. However, we also have huge opportunities to move forward towards the achievement of our common goals," President Trump wrote in his letter to PM Orbán.
PM Orbán became one of the first leaders to congratulate Donald Trump on winning the presidency back in November.
Sources say that there will be a number of discussions on the table when the pair meet, rumored to be at the NATO summit in May, including the migrant crisis, Russia sanctions, NATO, and a new US policy toward Hungary.
