Their main task will be patrolling the border to prevent illegal entries and they will also be involved in apprehending human smugglers and illegal migrants.

Stopping illegal migration, combatting people smuggling and reinforcing border security was a common duty of Hungary and Turkey.
Defense Minister Tibor Benkő said Europe was surrounded by migration, which brought dangers “that could lead to tragedy if we don’t deal with them effectively”.
The prime minister said the countries located on the EU’s periphery cannot be expected to bear the costs of border protection alone.
“What happens next? Will Member States be punished simply for protecting the continent from mass migration? We will continue to defend Europe," the justice minister said.
The foreign minister expressed thanks for Polish border guards and police protecting the borders of Poland and consequently the borders of the European Union.
PM Orbán argued in the letter that by now Hungary’s border protection measures had become “exemplary” in Europe.
The number of illegal border crossing attempts is currently a daily average of 319 as against 97 in the same period of last year.
Marion Gentges, the new minister of justice and migration of Germany’s Baden-Württemberg province, thanked Hungary for protecting the European Union’s external borders and halting illegal migration.
Protecting the southern borders serves security in the whole of Europe, Zoltán János Kuczik said, adding that international cooperation was crucial for efforts against illegal migration.
“We are protecting the security of the whole of Europe,” Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said in Röszke following a visit to the Hungarian-Serbian border with his Czech counterpart Andrej Babiš.
