FM: 2023 brought “all-time records” in Hungary’s foreign trade

Minister Varga said the government is committed to cutting red tape and taxes for companies.
The prime minister said that the number of vocational school applicants has been rising for years, and their academic performance was also improving.
Minister Varga said major resources are expected to be spent on energy-efficiency developments and businesses can participate in these as suppliers.
The prime minister said changes had been made because it had become clear that the sanctions imposed by Brussels had resulted in a rapid rise in energy prices, and the issue of energy had become the key to economic success and the country’s financing.
The prime minister said Hungary will need some 500,000 new workers in the coming 1-2 years.
“We will be under great pressure, but we are strong enough to stay out of the war,” PM Orbán said.
The focus of the 2022-26 government is and will be on the economy.
The foreign minister said the past 12 years “have made it clear what a competitive edge a country will gain through quick decision-making supported by political stability”.
Mihály Varga said Hungary must remain a European growth leader in the next few years in order to regain its development potential enjoyed before the pandemic.
