Their main task will be patrolling the border to prevent illegal entries and they will also be involved in apprehending human smugglers and illegal migrants.

On a 1-5 scale, 33 percent of Hungarians rated the work of the national police force a 5, with just 11 percent giving it a 2 or a 1 rating.
The national police (ORFK) has sent a 30-strong contingent to North Macedonia, a 20-member unit to Serbia and a group of three to Slovenia.

The police detained a Hungarian driver on his way to Austria early on Thursday after they found that he was transporting 24 migrants without travelling documents in his truck.
The illegal migrants will be taken back to the southern border, while the drivers will face charges of people smuggling, punishable by up to 5 years or even up to 15 years in aggravated cases.
“Order is the foundation of liberty,” Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said at a solemn assembly of the 100-year-old Hungarian police force on Friday in the Parliament.
Twenty members of the 40th Hungarian contingent have headed to Serbia and thirty members of the 45th contingent to North Macedonia to patrol the borders.
The Hungarian police force stated that it is committed to stopping illegal migrants from entering Hungary and the European Union.
The national police headquarters has sent a 40-strong contingent to North Macedonia and a 35-member unit to Serbia.
