Minister Szijjártó said the crisis in the Middle East hit Lebanon badly and tens of thousands of people have been displaced.
Minister Szijjártó said on Facebook that this requires an extension of the ceasefire agreement, adding that Hungary "firmly supports" such an extension.
The election of a president will bring stability to a country that has gone through a lot of hardships over the past several months and years, the foreign minister said.
The foreign minister said the threat of an escalation of the conflict in the Middle East is “a major concern of ours in Hungary”.
Minister Szijjártó said the anti-terrorist operations must be prevented from escalating into a war between countries.
