President János Áder told a press conference that plans were to finalize the proposal for the creation of the database by 2023.
The president has praised “national cohesion” and the help the public has given to people in need due to the war in Ukraine, the pandemic, and natural disasters.
The president said Ukraine was in need of immediate and serious political and humanitarian support, adding that Hungary will contribute its part.
President János Áder and István Joó discussed the economic benefits that resulted from the Planet Budapest 2021 sustainability expo.
President János Áder extended condolences to the families of the victims and the people of Ghana and expressed hope that those injured would recover swiftly.
The president visited the St. Joseph training center in a poor district of Nairobi, which has received 280,000 US dollars in funding from the Hungary Helps program.
President Áder’s visit, the first Hungarian president to visit Kenya since it gained independence, served to intensify bilateral cooperation.
President Áder started an eight-day visit to Ghana and Kenya on January 12. He is the first Hungarian president to visit Ghana since 1989.
The president held talks with Akufo-Addo, his Ghanaian counterpart, in Accra, which were a part of a multi-day visit focused on areas of cooperation aimed at boosting foreign trade and securing mutual benefits.
The president's trip is the first visit by a Hungarian head of state to those countries since the fall of communism.
President Áder said that during his term in office he had represented values that were important to him as a Hungarian citizen.
“Let’s not only reaffirm, but also strengthen, our will to act in the new year, and let’s not allow apathy and resignation to get the better of us,” President Áder said.
