Armed Forces Chief Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi said the army stands ready to protect the Hungarian people should circumstances warrant it.
Commander of the Hungarian Armed Forces Lt. Gen. Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi said Western allies are sharing information on the situation in the Balkans and the Russian-Ukrainian standoff.
The event was opened by Defense Minister Tibor Benkő and Hungarian army chief Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi both on Saturday and Sunday.
“If there’s trouble, then we’re the ones who have to defend the homeland," the prime minister said.
Ruszin-Szendi will replace Colonel General Ferenc Korom whom the defense minister relieved of his post last week.
