The ruling Fidesz party could win 14 of Hungary's 21 seats in the European Parliament, a recent poll has found.
Despite the media hype surrounding Fidesz's position in the EPP, the party has in fact improved its popularity among voters, a poll by think-tank Nézőpont indicates.
The poll showed that the party managed to improve its popularity since the last February poll by two percentage points, and now stands at 56 percent among decided voters.
Results also showed that Fidesz will win 14 seats in the European Parliament at the May elections, two more than it had in 2014. Hungary has a total 21 seats in the European Parliament since Croatia joined the EU in 2013. It previously had 22 seats.
