Hungarian police force continues to help North Macedonia and Serbia tackle migrant crisis

The Hungarian officers will help patrol the Greek-North Macedonian and the North Macedonian-Serbian border to prevent illegal migration on the Balkans route

The Hungarian police force has announced that it will continue to assist the authorities of North Macedonia and Serbia in their efforts to stop illegal migration.

The National Police Headquarters has already participated in two rotations of Hungarian police officers assisting the two Balkans countries: the first batch of 30 and 15 officers were deployed to North Macedonia and Serbia, respectively, last November.

The officers will help patrol the Greek-North Macedonian and the North Macedonian-Serbian border to prevent illegal migration on the Balkans route.

Officers will be equipped with all-terrain vehicles, night vision and thermal cameras and will serve both on the borders and elsewhere in the two countries where illegal migration remains a serious problem.
