Gabko Chili from Nagymaros has been awarded the best in the world for their beer-mango-habanero sauce at the World Hot Sauce Awards.
The Hungarian’s “Alle mango habanero hot sauce” not only finished in first place in the fruity sauce category but also became the overall winner and awarded the title of the best chili sauce in the world.
Gábor Nagy, the owner of Gabko Chili, said his choice of sauce was risky, but he wanted to send a sauce to the World Hot Sauce Awards that nobody had seen or tasted before.
Nagy started his small business in 2011. “I needed a product that could be used as a spice and that didn’t make my food too salty, but I got the desired effect from a small amount, while preserving the real taste and power of chili,” he had previously said about his brand.
Today not only are his sauces made from the strongest chilies, but the brand also seeks to satisfy the tastes of those who love softer flavors.
