Hungary donates 200,000 coronavirus vaccines to Egypt

Hungary is sending 200,000 doses of the coronavirus vaccine to Egypt to boost its vaccination campaign and strengthen virus protection efforts in the north African country.

Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, said Hungary is sending 200,000 doses of the coronavirus vaccine to Egypt to boost its vaccination campaign and strengthen virus protection efforts in the north African country.

Speaking in a video from Liszt Ferenc International Airport ahead of a visit to Africa, Minister Szijjártó called Egypt key to European security. Egypt has successfully stemmed the flow of migrants from its territory to Europe for the past five years, he said. “Egypt’s success, security and stability are important for us,” he said. With the vaccine shipment to Egypt, the number of doses Hungary donated to other countries has surpassed 2.5 million, Minister Szijjártó said.
