Hungary’s Parliament will kick off its spring session on Monday

Monday’s session will include oath-takings by three new MPs. A final vote on the annual 2017 reports by the Kúria, Hungary’s supreme court, the National Office for the Judiciary and the Public Prosecutor’s Office will then be held

Hungary’s Parliament will kick off its spring session on Monday.

The first two-week period will include a plenary debate on establishing a foundation to operate Budapest’s Corvinus University.

Reports on justice administration will be heard and the establishment of asset management foundations for various public functions will be discussed.

According to MTI, Monday’s session will include oath-takings by three new MPs. A final vote on the annual 2017 reports by the Kúria, Hungary’s supreme court, the National Office for the Judiciary and the Public Prosecutor’s Office will then be held.

What’s more, lawmakers will also decide on the immunity of Gyula Budai of the ruling Fidesz party in connection with a defamation case.

A decision will also be made on Wednesday on whether to reduce the pay of opposition Parbeszed lawmaker Bence Tordai and opposition DK lawmaker László Varjú in connection with a disciplinary issue.

Lawmakers will also debate the situation of ethnic minorities living in Hungary during 2015-2017. The four-day session will end on Monday, February 25th.
