The new guest worker legislation was approved with a vote of 135 for, 47 against and 10 abstentions.
The amendment was passed with 130 votes in favor, 51 against and 6 abstentions.
The declaration also includes a statement in support of initiatives that assist migration countries of origin, paving the way for Hungary to join the post-Cotonou agreement.
The foreign minister said the war had so far proved “disastrous”, with “hundreds of thousands dead, millions displaced, hundreds of thousands of families torn apart and thousands drafted forcefully, while whole regions are in ruins.”
The Hungarian government’s position is that the enlargement of NATO will be a significant step towards enhancing the security of the Euro-Atlantic region.
