Hungary’s police force will again take part in protecting the border with Serbia and Macedonia, it has been confirmed.
According to the national police headquarters, Hungarian officers will travel to Serbia to work along the Bulgarian border and thirty will be sent to Macedonia to work along the Greek border.
Deputy National Police Chief István Kovács bade farewell to members of the contingents in Budapest, the fifth time the officers have embarked on such a mission.
According to MTI, the officers will patrol the border to prevent and uncover unlawful border crossings and will be involved in arresting human smugglers and illegal migrants.
The Hungarian police will use their own equipment including vehicles and night vision devices to carry out their tasks and will act under the control and supervision of their Serbian and Macedonian colleagues, respectively.
