Netflix to film The Witcher in Hungary

Sources say Superman actor Henry Cavill is being lined up to play the leading man

Netflix has announced that it will film its adaptation of the critically acclaimed video game The Witcher in Hungary.

Sources reveal that filming will take place in Budapest once the casting for the series has been confirmed, exact production dates are yet to be confirmed.

The original novels were written in Polish by Andrzej Sapkowski but became popular worldwide following the release of the best-selling computer games.

More than 13 million copies of the novel series have been sold so far, which follows Geralt, a man with supernatural abilities that help him catch monsters.

Three Witcher games have been released to date, starting with The Witcher in 2007. The Witcher II: Assassination Of Kings was released in 2011, and finally The Witcher III: Wild Hunt was released in 2015.
