PM Orbán arrives in Brussels for European Council meetings

The PM said this is the most important consultation regarding the future of the EU, and the primary question for now is whether or not Fidesz will remain in the EPP.

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán led European leaders in Brussels today for the start of the European Council meetings to discuss filling Europe’s top positions.

The Prime Minister said that this is the most important consultation regarding the future of the European Union, and the primary question for now is whether or not Fidesz will remain in the EPP.

Fidesz will now decide whether or not leaving the strongest European party is worthwhile. If PM Orbán chooses to do so, the party could join Salvini’s League. Another option is joining forces with the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR).

Stay tuned as About Hungary follows the action over the coming days.
