Following his appearance at the recent NATO summit, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán continues to build relations with international leaders around the world.
On Friday, PM Orbán had a lengthy telephone conversation with Russian president Vladimir Putin, where they discussed current issues linked to Hungarian-Russian relations. The Kremlin website also reported that the talks had taken place.
PM Orbán and President Putin often converse regarding international points of interest. The two leaders spoke in March regarding the Paks II nuclear upgrade project and Hungary-Russia ties are extremely important.
According to sources, during their March conversation, PM Orbán and President Putin discussed logistics surrounding the Paks project, also covering bilateral issues linking the two countries, agreements signed during their meeting in February, and international current affairs.
PM Orbán also had a telephone conversation with Italian prime minister Paolo Gentiloni on Friday, and discussed current international issues and the European Union.
