President János Áder has signed a law on healthcare employment, including a salary increase for doctors.

According to MTI, President Áder said the law was compatible with the constitution, and that “further open issues will be addressed in by-laws” ahead of the law coming into force. The law passed by parliament on October 6 regulates working conditions for doctors and nurses.

The legislation was prepared in agreement with the Hungarian doctors’ chamber (MOK), “in rare consensus between politicians, professionals and the parliamentary committee”, President Áder noted. The law was accepted unanimously by all parliamentary parties in an expedited procedure.
