Hungarian tennis sensation Tímea Babos has won the WTA Tour Finals along with her doubles partner Kristina Mladenovic in Shenzhen, China.
The pair defeated Hsieh Su-Wei and Barbora Strýcová 6-1 6-3 in just 64 minutes, giving Babos her third tour win and Mladenovic her second – a feat not replicated since 1998, when Lindsay Davenport won the doubles tournament three consecutive times.
Babos’ third win puts her up there with tennis greats such as Martina Hingis, Lisa Raymond and Billie Jean King. Pam Shriver has won the tournament 10 times, while the ultimate champion is still Martina Navratilová who has won 13 times.
