The number of bookings at commercial accommodations in Hungary for September and October are “well over” the number in the same period a year earlier and suggest fourth-quarter guest nights could exceed levels in 2019, before the pandemic, bookings site Szallas.hu said in an analysis, noting that revenue per available room on its bookings rose by 57 percent in the second quarter from the same period in 2019. During that period, reservation numbers increased by 15 percent, while the number of guests grew by 13 percent, it added. In the third quarter, long-weekends are giving the sector a boost, but the lack of Russian guests, the tight labour market and bad weather has weighed, Szallas.hu spokesperson Lili Kelemen said.
