PM Orbán leads Hungarian delegation at Chinese expo

The prime minister is due to hold bilateral talks with China's President during the official visit to Shanghai

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán arrived in Shanghai today to attend events part of the first China International Import Expo (CIIE).

The prime minister will attend the plenary meeting of the international economic and trade forum today which will be held at the expo venue, and will the view the pavilions alongside President of China Xi Jinping and the delegation heads of other attending countries.

According to government insiders, the prime minister will also hold bilateral talks with the Chinese President according to scheduled plans.

On Tuesday, PM Orbán will open the Hungarian country pavilion and will meet with executives of the largest Chinese companies.

The Hungarian delegation will also include Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó, Minister for Innovation and Technology László Palkovics and Minister of Agriculture István Nagy.

The China International Import Expo (CIIE) will be held with the participation of more than 130 countries and regions. Some 2,800 companies will exhibit at the event which will run until November 10th, and Hungary will be one of the guests of honor.

Organizers are expecting 300,000 visitors to Shanghai during the expo, a city with a population of 24 million.
