The Hungarian Disaster Management Authority (OKF) has sent 10 tents, 10 water pumps and 500 blankets to the town of Konjic.
The foreign minister said that in Hungary’s view, “the European Union these days needs the integration of the Western Balkan countries more than they need EU membership”.
Minister Szalay-Bobrovniczky said Hungary had a vested interest in the political and economic stability of south-eastern Europe because it contributes to the security of Hungary and Europe.
The European integration of the Western Balkans, the EUFOR Althea mission, demographic issues, and economic and cultural relations were topics on the agenda of talks.
Minister Szijjártó said Europe could gain “new momentum, new energies and ambition” through integrating the Western Balkans.
Both countries see energy security as a priority, and the TurkStream gas pipeline is key for both of them, Minister Szijjártó said.
The foreign minister said the integration of Western Balkan countries would strengthen the bloc and help in the handling of current issues.
Minister Szijjártó said that though Konaković was not in need of his support, he still wanted to voice his objection to the report.
