More than one million people have participated in government’s National Consultation survey

So far, 1.014 million people have returned the national questionnaire on protecting Hungary’s sovereignty.

Csaba Dömötör, state secretary of the Prime Minister’s Cabinet Office, said that more than one million people have participated so far in the government’s National Consultation public survey.

Dömötör told MTI that 1.014 million people had returned the questionnaire on protecting Hungary’s sovereignty. He said this showed that many wanted to express their opinions on the issues of Ukraine’s financing and European Union membership, noting that the financing issue will be back on the EU’s agenda at a summit early next year. Hungary is under “a lot of pressure” to approve further tens of billions of euros in funding for Ukraine, the state secretary said. Dömötör noted that in the survey Hungarians can also express their views on the EU’s new migration package as well as “demands and proposals from Brussels that would restrict the Hungarian economy’s room for manoeuvre”. The deadline for filling out the survey is Jan 10, he added. He said 86% of the questionnaires have been sent back by mail.
